WAYS TO HELP

Adjustments.jpeg

Port De-Paix, Haiti is the home of LWCS.

Because shipping costs to Haiti are outrageously high, as well as the recipient of any goods arriving in Haiti having to pay 25% of the value, we ask that you please not physically go and buy the items listed below, rather donate the money for them.
We rather help Haiti twice by allowing them to buy the items there instead, helping local Haitian business as well as getting more for the donated money. If you donate money for something specifically, you will assuredly see your money in action. All donations are tax deductible as we are a 501 (c) (3) organization.

If you’d like to make a contribution of any size as a monthly or one time payment, to sponsor a child to be able to attend school, or for the specific needs listed below, please click here.

Battery and inverter system so the school is able to access electricity.

The cost of this system is $3500. The generator currently used is very loud and distracting as well as guzzles up a lot of money in gas to make it run. Without the battery and inverter system or the generator, the school would not have power as regular access to electricity is not available.

Medical Supplies for the school nurse

Because so many children come to school with illnesses and maladies (flu, colds, head lice, fungus, etc.,), we need to keep a stock of medical supplies on hand for the school nurse to be able to administer and use to treat. This includes asprin, Advil, Tylenol, cough drops, fungal creams, head lice treatments, band aids, first aid creams, etc.,

Pay for an egg day for 150$

“Egg day” at LWCS is a day where we provide every student with one hard boiled egg. Now this may not seem like a lot to most, but the properties of an egg (high protein and rich in omega 3) this could mean the difference between starving and not. 150$ will provide 350 students with a hard boiled egg (pays for the egg, cook, fuel, and transporting). We give an egg day to the students every time 85$ is donated for this specific purpose.

In addition we are attempting to develop a chicken coop so we can more easily and cost efficiently provide eggs for the students. If you would like to donate to this cause please put it in your memo when you donate.

School Supplies

The school is in desperate need of supplies. Students need everything; pens & paper, books, French booklets, computers, and much more.

We also desperately need gasoline so that we can run the generator needed for power at the school, and abundant amounts of toilet paper.

• Holiday Programs

Christmas -Provisions for gifts, Christmas dinner for students and their families, and small bonuses for our hard working teachers.

Easter - Provisions for colored eggs for each student and an Easter dinner celebration.

• End of school picnics

Provide for the end of year picnics for each class, which is Haitian tradition. Donations will provide for transportation and a meal.
