In Haiti only two out of ten children can afford to go to school because the educational system is privatized and very expensive. Approximately 80% of Haiti’s citizens are unemployed, therefor 80% of the country’s children will never learn to read or write, let alone learn the skills they need to survive in an environment plagued with acute poverty. These people do not have access to affordable clean water, basic medical care, electricity, plumbing, or even enough food to eat. The vicious cycle of poverty-stricken families, not being able to to send their children to school generation after generation has crippled this community.

Our goal is to create a sustainable, self sufficient community that is able to function and thrive. This can only be accomplished through youth education and adult training, equipping the citizens of Port-de-Paix with the skills they need to advance their economy and climb their way out of the hopelessness of abject poverty.

The mission of Living Water Christian School is to bring clean water, basic medical care, and a nationally accredited education to hundreds of the poorest children on planet Earth on the North West coast of Haiti.

The long term goal is to buy land and to build a large compound with a school facility, and an adult training center. We will establish and maintain gardens, harvestable fruit trees, chickens coops and live stock. The benefit of this, is that the compound would generate enough income from products and trainees services to pay for teachers, and also be able to provide a daily nutritious meal to the students. This would eventually develop the compound into a self sustaining organization.

Education is the only chance these children and their families will ever have to climb out of abject poverty. Please give these children a fighting chance at a life where they have access to basic human necessities.
